Nathan Sackschewsky
Orchestra Director, Lake Zurich High School

Nathan Sackschewsky has been teaching orchestra since 2006 after receiving his Bachelors degree from Augustana College in Music Education. At Lake Zurich High School, Mr. Sackschewsky teaches the Concert and Symphony Orchestras as well as Guitar, AP Music Theory, and Electronic Music. He began his career teaching 4th through 8th grade orchestra in Buffalo Grove. He also taught orchestra at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, IL, and Batavia High School in Batavia, IL. Mr. Sackschewsky received his Masters degree in Arts Management from Columbia Collage in Chicago. While at Columbia he interned with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Midwest Young Artists Conservatory. He has also worked as the Director for the Young Music Scholars program at MYAC, which is an outreach program that pairs underserved students from Waukegan, North Chicago, and Highwood with mentors from the MYAC Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Sackschewsky presented at the 2016 Illinois Music Educators Conference with Dr. Allan Dennis, his wife, Robin Sackschewsky and the BHS Chamber Orchestra.
Mr. Sackschewsky is an active clinician and performer in the Chicago area. He currently performs viola with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra and the Jan Sobieski String Quartet. In his free time, Mr. Sackschewsky enjoys traveling, skiing, mountain biking, and boating with his wife Robin, daughter Leonore, and his dog Arco.
